Hi! I’m Claire. This is my first blog post and I’m pretty crazy excited about it. I’ve tried blogging in the past but have never seemed to keep up with it very well. But recently, because of the inspiration of so many wonderful bloggers, my love for music , and a desire to share a lil’ of life with you all, this blog, “Sounds, Soliloquy & 6 Strings” is born:) Happy Birthday!:)
SOUNDS. I’m a musician, a singer/songwriter to be exact. I’ll be posting music and links to music that I make, love, or both:) My sound? I play acoustic guitar. I’m a female vocalist. I sing all sorts of genres (classical, Broadway, country, pop, folk) but when I write music, it’s more a laid back “coffeehouse” type sound with vocals and guitar or vocals and piano. So for now, I’ll say the genre is indie/folk/pop.
SOLILOQUY. The definition according to dictionary.com is, “1. an utterance or discourse by a person who is talking to himself or herself or is disregardful of or oblivious to any hearers present and 2. the act of talking while or as if alone.”
Personally, I just think soliloquy is a fun word:) I’ll be posting a lot of it on this blog about various subjects from homemaking to recipes to theology and other various topics and loves in my life. Stay tuned. I hope you enjoy and are encouraged by it;-)
6 STRINGS. Well, that’s referring to my wonderful friend, my guitar of course. As much as I name my belongings (Naphtali Nelly the Dodge Neon, for example), the best guitar name I’ve come up with for my guitar is “Take” (Pronounced “Tauk-ee”) or just “Tak” (Pronounced “tauk” for short). She’s a Takemine. I know. so original:) You won’t be hearing my Take on this site, but my husband’s “baby”, Taylor. Yes, she’s a Taylor. I know, we’re so original with names;-) Taylor just has a prettier voice than Tak so I’ll be using her:)
